Going to a salon and getting waxed can cost as much as $50 for both arms and legs. If you have Asian genes, you probably have to go in quite frequently! I recently discovered a roll on wax made by Nair and was totally impressed! I usually use a popsicle stick and my professional wax warmer. I didn’t have that handy, so I gave this a shot. It took me less than ten minutes to do both half of my legs! And it smells amazing! All you have to do is warm the wax for 25 seconds in the microwave, apply a thin layer on your legs, put the strip on top of the wax, and pull! It even comes with a handy dandy tray to hold your wax so it doesn’t make a huge mess. If the application gets thick, just heat again for 10-15 seconds. After using it, you can even wash and reuse the strips. When washing the head of the roller, use warm soapy water. Whatever doesn’t come off, use Goo Gone. The next time you use it, it will be clean and ready to go! Here are some tips to get the best results form waxing:
- Exfoliate your legs at least a week before waxing as well as in between waxing sessions to help with ingrown hairs. I love using bath gloves as an exfoliator.
- The instructions say to wash your legs with soap before waxing. Skip this step as it is totally not necessary. The wax will stick to your skin better without the washing.
- Avoid sunscreen, sun exposure, hot showers, fragranced products, and harsh abrasives for at least 24 hours.
- Repeat waxing every 4-6 weeks. The more often you do it, the thinner and more sparse your hair will become.
