Exfoliating is an important part of your skin care regimen. It helps to slough off dead skin cells and remove impurities from pores that could result in breakouts. Store bought exfoliants contain many questionable ingredients and are also very pricey. Why not try making your own exfoliant with ingredients that you already have in your kitchen? It costs very little and you know what you’re putting into your scrub. Here is one of my favorite recipes the helps to brighten your complexion!
Sugar Lemon Face Scrub
Combine 1 teaspoon sugar with 1/2 teaspoon honey and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and mix well. If the mixture is too wet, add a bit more sugar.
Massage onto a wet face in gentle circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off with warm water and follow with a moisturizer. Exfoliate at least once a week.
Sugar acts as a natural exfoliant, honey has amazing antioxidant and anti microbial properties, and lemon is clarifying as well as lightening (great for scars or tan marks) 🙂
